Dan Halutz served as the IDF Chief of Staff (2005-2007). In his long military career, Halutz started as a Israel Air Force pilot, and worked his way up the ranks to become the Commander of the Air Force. 

During his tenure as Chief of Staff he oversaw the disengagement from the Gaza Strip in 2005 and the Second Lebanon War in 2006. 

Following his time in the army, Halutz entered the business world where he filled a number of executive positions.

Alongside his service with Amit La'Derech, Halutz has served as Volunteer Chairman of “Challenges”, which aids thousands of youth and adults with disabilities through participation in extreme sports.
